In antiquity, the shepherd’s trade was the trade of prophets, philosophers and sages. Today we offer you something new, useful and singular — something off the beaten path.

Early in the morning, at cockcrow, we walk with a shepherd and his flock of sheep and goats. Just hearing the news lights the fire of adventure in the children’s hearts.

We meet our shepherd friend in a nearby village, share his breakfast, then set off with his flock, his dog and his donkey.

In summer and autumn, we go to the pastures near his home. In winter and spring, into the argan and juniper forests. In the fields, beneath or above the argan trees, the goats graze and the children play with the lambs. Whoever feels tired climbs onto the donkey’s back — or simply does so for the experience.

We discover the diversity of the plant world, especially medicinal and aromatic plants. The shepherd and his flock teach us patience, the language of animals, and the art of survival. In harmony and in accord with nature — a goat or a ewe may give birth at any moment, a cow may let us milk her.

This isn’t a simple outing — it’s a lesson in life, in reflection, in sharing.

On a hilltop with a panoramic view, or near a valley, we pause. At midday we return with the shepherd and his flock — pleasantly tired, our minds full of peace and quiet.

Once the fire is lit, we make a tea scented with thyme or rosemary. There, at the threshold of the home, the shepherd’s mother waits for us — heart brimming, the warmth of a generous welcome and the aroma of a delicious meal reaching us from afar.
